Hubble telescope captures ‘forbidden light’ coming from deep space

In a remarkable feat of cosmic photography, the Hubble Space Telescope has captured an image of the spiral galaxy, revealing the enigmatic beauty of what is known as ‘forbidden’ light.

The galaxy, dubbed MCG-01-24-014, is situated approximately 275 million light-years away from Earth in the constellation of Hydra, and boasts a well-defined structure and an extremely energetic core classified as an active galactic nucleus (AGN) .

The Hubble’s Advanced Camera for Surveys (ACS) has allowed astronomers to view MCG-01-24-014 in unprecedented detail. The galaxy’s two prominent spiral arms and its radiant core have been captured in a stunning image that not only showcases the galaxy’s aesthetic appeal but also provides valuable scientific insight into the nature of AGNs and the behavior of matter under extreme conditions.
