The deputy head of communications of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, Wael Abu Fanounah, was killed in a bombing carried out by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) in the Gaza Strip. According to the IDF and the internal security agency Shin Bet, Abu Fanouah was responsible for publishing videos of the Palestinian armed group, including rocket launches towards Israel and propaganda videos featuring Israeli hostages held in the exclave.
