As the nation’s elite-level producer of garbage, Congress has announced its latest invention: what the BBC called a “a long-awaited cross-party deal that aims to combat illegal immigration at the US-Mexico border.”
Because politics is a quagmire of dirty dealings — where Democrats get 95% of everything they want while Republicans celebrate reducing their demands by 5% — the $120 billion funding deal includes $60 billion for Ukraine (because the previous tens of billions of dollars didn’t do the trick) and $14 billion for Israel.
What have either of these countries got to do with the crisis at the Southern Border? Nothing, but please, don’t ask difficult questions. And if you dare to criticize this bill, you don’t care about Ukraine or Israel! Or, worst of all, both!
But beyond the continued shameless giveaway to countries across the world, here’s the real issue: When the Biden administration can no longer escape from a problem it caused, the solution is simple.
Just redefine the problem!
Since shuffling into the White House in January 2021, over 6.3 million migrants have been detained crossing the border illegally. A massive 2.4 million of these have been allowed to enter the country, after pinky-promising to show up to a court date at some point.
And how many have crossed successfully without being detained?
Again, stop asking difficult questions!
