The poll asked
“Are you better off or worse off financially today than you were four years ago, or about the same?” 52 percent responded that they are “worse off” while 26 percent said they are “about the same.”
Only 22 percent said they are “better off” financially under Biden. Back in December 2021, when Fox News asked the same question, only 27 percent said they were worse off under former President Donald Trump. This is 25 points fewer.
The poll findings unveiled a striking divergence in Americans’ financial assessments under the Biden administration. While the economy has shown signs of recovery and resilience, the survey indicated that a significant portion of the electorate holds a negative view, with 40% of respondents considering the economy to be worse compared to a year earlier. This sentiment, juxtaposed against broader economic indicators, reflects the intricate interplay of individual experiences, societal perspectives, and the complexities of economic sentiment.
