Maybe IKEA should have written the Bible?

I’ve had a mixed bag with assembling IKEA furniture. Sometimes I may have put this screw in the wrong pilot hole or that panel in the wrong slot, but, eventually it works out and after scrutinizing the instructions (too late) I see how I skipped or misinterpreted a step. At the end, I have a product that generally resembles and behaves similar to the floor model.

Imagine if someone sat down with the instructions and spare parts and at the end produced a flame thrower or an electric chair or a nuclear bomb.

I say this all the time: despite what you think the Bible says, it has been used to justify infanticide, child trafficking, genocide, slavery, autocracy, theocracy, sexism, superstition and a whole host of other atrocities.

Based on your understanding of the Bible how is someone supposed to behave? Who is doing this? Are you? How do people get it wrong? Should the Bible use smaller words? Shorter sentences? Cartoon characters?
