Alex Jones Will Sell Off Infowars to Help Pay $1.5 Billion He Owes to Sandy Hook Families

The right-wing conspiracy theorist used his platform to spread lies that the 2012 massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School was a hoax

Alex Jones, the right-wing conspiracy theorist who was ordered to pay $1.5 billion to the families of Sandy Hook victims, has asked a judge to convert his personal bankruptcy into a Chapter 7 liquidation.

According to CNN, Jones succumbed to pressure from the Sandy Hook families, who have yet to receive any of the damages from Jones after he was found liable for defamation in 2022 for repeatedly and falsely claiming the 2012 massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School was a hoax.

The move comes just a few days after Jones sobbed last weekend over the potential liquidation of his assets, including Infowars β€” the long-running platform he used to spread his dangerous Sandy Hook conspiracy β€” and which may now be up for liquidation.
