US Rep. Ted Lieu has claimed that former president Donald Trump‘s pictures are “all over” the released Jeffrey Epstein files.
The Democrat from California spoke before Congress on Tuesday to air his concerns about Trump running for office.
Lieu said: “Something I’ve heard that doesn’t seem to be being covered are the Epstein files. These files were released. Donald Trump is sort of all over this. There are pictures of him with Epstein. He’s taken plane flights with Epstein. He’s in call logs with Epstein…”
Lieu added: “One of the trending hashtags on (X) right now is about Trump and Epstein…but yeah you all might want to look at that, because that’s highly disturbing and shows that Donald Trump is not fit for office.
“And by the way, he was convicted in a civilian court for sexual assault and convicted in a separate court of 34 felonies. Donald Trump should drop out of the race.”
Legal documents relating to Epstein’s sexual abuse of teenage girls were released earlier this year, throwing around the names of several rich and influential men as involved in the affairs – Trump’s name included.
Trump also became the first former US president to be convicted of felony crimes in May after a New York jury found him guilty of all 34 charges in a scheme to illegally influence the 2016 election through a hush money payment to a porn actor who said the two had sex.
