Trump not in Oregon voters’ pamphlet. Here’s the reason why

PORTLAND, Ore. — The Oregon voters pamphlet is arriving in mailboxes across the state ahead of the November election. The booklet lists candidates running for president, vice president and U.S. representative in addition to those vying for county roles.

But a campaign statement from one presidential candidate is absent.

Former President and Republican nominee Donald Trump does not appear in the pamphlet alongside Democratic nominee and Vice President Kamala Harris, or Pacific Green Party candidate Jill Stein. Though Trump’s name does appear on page 26 of the booklet, marked with an asterisk.

An asterisk at the bottom of the page notes that, “Candidate chose not to submit a voters’ pamphlet statement.”

On Thursday, the Oregon Secretary of State addressed the topic in a post on the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter. The post reads, in part: “The Trump campaign chose not to participate. It was not an omission by officials. Trump/Vance will still be on your ballot.”

The Oregon Republican Party shared a message with a similar explanation on its website.

“The decision not to submit a statement was made by the Trump campaign earlier this year,” the statement reads. “Rest assured: President Trump WILL be on your ballot, along with other strong, common-sense Republican candidates.”
