Today I’d like to talk about an excerpt [or two] from the fifteenth chapter of the Gospel of John [and one from Matthew]
If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
Again, truly I tell you, if two of you agree on earth about anything you ask, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven
Three questions present themselves:
1. Did Jesus [exist and] say these things?
2. What is meant by these words?
3. Are these words true?
And one bonus question, really for those who answered “yes” to questions one and three whilst hand-waving away any actual meaning in answer to question two…
Have no two Christians ever sincerely asked for World peace?
