He didn’t dodge that one.
A Dodgers fan partially blew off his hands with a firework while celebrating the team’s World Series win in Los Angeles Wednesday night, according to shocking video making the rounds online.
A 25-year-old man wearing a Dodgers No. 22 jersey — which is pitcher Clayton Kershaw’s number but had the name “King” on the back — can be seen carrying a lit firework into a downtown LA crosswalk.
The firework blows up in his hands before he can place it and walk away — covering him in smoke and spraying sparks and blood across the avenue.
People scream as the man turns away from the explosion stumbling, the video shows. As he gets closer to the videographer, it becomes clear that blood covers both his hands — with hunks of flesh and fingers missing and displaced.
As blood drips to the ground, the shocked celebrant looks down at his disfigured hands in utter disbelief.
Several bystanders came to the man’s aid and called the authorities.
The Los Angeles Fire Department said that the fan was conscious and alert but suffered bilateral hand wounds which were described by officials as “debilitating,” according to TMZ.
