Is this a noble sentiment?

Today’s reading is from the “noble” Qur’an, Surah Al-Mu’minun 1-6

I wonder if the Christians who lie about what the Bible says will be able to understand what the Qur’an says well enough, as the Muslims who lie about what the Qur’an says are able to understand what the Bible says well enough and, I feel sure, as both could understand well enough the meaning of certain passages in the Book of Mormon (coming to an OP near you soon)

Successful indeed are the believers
Those who humble themselves in prayer
Those who avoid idle talk
Those who pay alms-tax
Those who guard their chastity (except with their wives or those slaves in their possession, for then they are free from blame)

Does anybody here (like pretty much every Arabic scholar I can find, religious or not) think that this is saying that it’s okay to f**k your slaves?

If you don’t think that that’s what the surah means, please tell me: what do you think it does mean? And for bonus points, if you believe that it’s the word of some all-knowing entity: why would such an entity allow so many people as have understood it that way to misunderstand its word so egregiously?
