Mr. Howard had mentioned that there was a rabbi that was an atheist. Bunny sees no problem with that. This brings up the question, does one really need to be a theist or member of your particular faith, in order to be in a position of religious authority ?
Is faith necessary to be a rabbi, priest, vicar, minister, pastor, etc. ? As long as that person treats the position with care and responsibility it entails, and knows that the parishioners take what is said seriously, and tends to their spiritual needs, is there a problem?
Does tending to the spiritual needs of others require having their beliefs?
