Bartimaeus, Harry Potter, Percy Jackson. Some religious parents will fill their diapers with rage and horror if their children read and enjoy such. “Burn them!” Why? Are they afraid that their children are going to possessed by evil forces? Are they going to live a life of satanic mayhem? Are they worried that their God can’t keep the kiddies from a life of sin and depravity?
The kids are actually reading and enjoying it. Why are some so against simple pleasures? Are they so insecure in their religion that some fiction is going to tear their kids away?
