Some people will have themselves nailed to a cross. Some (Thomas Becket and others) will wear goat hair shirts. Some monks starve themselves. Some stick sharp objects through their skin. Self flagellation. All sorts of self harming things done in the name of faith.
What are your thoughts on such? Complete nutters? Deeply devoted? Misguided? Would the chosen deity really want followers to do such?
