Some theists will tell non believers that it wouldn’t hurt to believe in God..just in case. “Better to secure your place, just in case you are wrong and God exists.” Makes sense, until you remember God is omniscient, and knows what is in your heart.
You can’t change if you really believe in something or not. If you truly don’t believe, God will know. The question is should people go through the motions of believing, when God knows it is just to get into heaven? Does not really believing negate the good person you are?
