Hi
If the Jews are right, can we forget this Jesus fellow?
A few years back, I wrote about a Jewish apologist, proclaiming that the world would end in the Jewish year 6,000. Well, some of you may wonder and say why worry, we will have nearly 4,000 years for humanity to still exist! No, would be the answer as there is a vast difference between the Gregorian, and Jewish calendars. The Jewish calendar is calculated from the traditional date of Creation, which is believed to have occurred in 3761 BCE, and thus does not use BC or AD designations; instead, it uses the Common Era (CE) or Before Common Era (BCE) for reference to the Gregorian calendar.
The current Jewish year, as of Sunday, November 09, 2025, is 5786 AM (Anno Mundi), which began at sunset on September 22, 2025, and will end at sunset on September 11, 2026. This corresponds to the Gregorian year 2025, with the Jewish calendar year 5786 being in progress. (The Young Earth Creationists (YEC) believe the earth was created to the calculations of Archbishop James Ussher of Armagh (1581-1656), who believed the creation took place around 6 p.m. on October 23, 4004 BC.) I say time is running out as the Messianic Era comes to an end in just 215 years, along with the end of the World. When the Jewish calendar reaches the Jewish year, 6,000. The end of the world, according to Jewish sources, is that the world will cease to be after 29th of Elul, 6000 or 16th September 2240 CE. That would be 215 years from Sept. 2025. Then they believe the coming of their Jewish messiah, and their dead will live again! (Where have I heard that before?)
So, have the Christians got it wrong, and that their adopted messiah’s second coming is an 1830 invention, and that the true Jewish messiah come in 215 years in the future, arriving at the date 2240 CE? Does this mean we can all forget this Jesus fellow, what do you say?
