Were people back in the day more naive / gullible when it came to claims of miracles? “Cousin Zep cured me of my leprosy.” “Didn’t know you had it. A miracle.” “That preacher guy walked on water.” “Was the water shallow? A miracle.”
Basically, things that we can now explain away, were written up as miracles way back then. Were people back then more easily swayed to believe in miracles?
What would need to occur for you to say, “Damn. That was a miracle. No doubt about it.”?
