Former special counsel Jack Smith has agreed to sit for a deposition with the House Judiciary Committee on Dec. 17 after the panel’s Republicans issued a subpoena compelling him to appear for closed-door questioning.
Smith’s legal team said they were disappointed Republicans rejected his offer to testify publicly.
