Charting Trump’s decline

New polling shows a clear, sustained decline in voter approval of Donald Trump early in his second term, with serious electoral consequences. Since July, his overall approval has steadily worsened, reaching –13.1%, with sharp drops on inflation, economic policy, and foreign affairs. Inflation approval is especially damaging, falling to –25%. Immigration remains less negative, and crime is neutral, while only Israel/Hamas shows improvement. This trend strengthens Democrats’ prospects in 2026, risks fracturing MAGA support, and makes a Trump 2028 victory highly unlikely.
