A woman convicted for her role in the Jan. 6, 2021 riot has asked a judge to block the U.S. Senate from displaying a plaque honoring Capitol Police because it does not also recognize rioters.
After the Senate unanimously approved the plaque, Cindy Lou Young filed an emergency motion seeking an injunction against the memorial. She argued the plaque presents a “selective and self-serving” account of Jan. 6 by honoring law enforcement while excluding civilians she says were harmed or prosecuted, and complained it omits alleged federal infiltration of the crowd.
