There are many versions of a ‘blessed’ afterlife (i.e., you lived up to the standards of your faith):
- Some say it is eternal conscious union God, gods, or whatever;
- More traditional views posit an actual realm where the souls of the blessed experience eternal bliss for all eternity, either physically or spiritually, or both;
- Some religions posit a rebirth progression to learn more, with the eventual goal of the other three options;
- Still others suggest reassimilation of the ‘self’ back into the ultimate cosmos.
For those who believe in an afterlife:
- Which do you believe, and why?
- It is exegesis or eisegesis?
- Is there an option I’ve missed?
- Why should anyone believe your version of the afterlife over any other version?
