I read this on a Zohran Mamdani facebook group page and had to share some of it as it echoes my own thoughts…
I do not think that America can recover from this.
(January 20, 2026 – blogger Lee Murphy on Zohran Mamdani‘s Facebook Group page )
Canada’s Prime Minister Mark Carney just delivered a cold, surgical eulogy for American dominance….and laid the blame squarely at Donald Trump’s feet.
“This bargain no longer works.”
That single sentence will echo forever in history books.
World leaders almost never say the quiet part out loud. Carney did. At Davos, he calmly dismantled the fantasy that the post-World War II “rules-based order” was ever pure or evenly enforced.
He acknowledged what everyone knew but politely ignored….that power bent the rules, that international law was applied selectively, and that the system worked largely because American hegemony made it useful.
The deal was simple….the world tolerated the hypocrisy because the U.S. provided real public goods. Open sea lanes. A stable financial system. Collective security. Predictable trade rules. Dispute resolution that mostly functioned. We all hung the sign in the window, performed the rituals, and looked past the gaps between rhetoric and reality.
But the syphilitic, demented baby man showed up with a wrecking ball and confused vandalism for strength.
Carney didn’t mince words. This isn’t a transition….it’s a rupture. Decades of financial, health, energy, and geopolitical crises exposed the risks of hyper-integration.
Now, under Trumpism, great powers have gone further….turning integration itself into a weapon. Tariffs as leverage. Finance as coercion. Supply chains as choke points. Mutual benefit collapses the moment integration becomes subordination.
And that’s the point the MAGA CULT refuses to grasp.
Europe didn’t “submit” to America out of fear. It participated because the system worked for them. Trump is stripping away those benefits while demanding loyalty anyway….and the response is entirely rational.
Countries are decoupling. Hedging. Building autonomy in energy, food, minerals, finance, and supply chains. Canada’s massive trade pivot toward China isn’t defiance….it’s insurance. And it’s overwhelmingly sad and terrifying at the same time.
Carney spelled it out: when the rules no longer protect you, you protect yourself.
The multilateral institutions middle powers relied on….the WTO, the UN, climate frameworks, collective problem-solving itself….are now under threat. And once that architecture cracks, the consequences cascade. A world of fortresses is poorer, more fragile, and less stable. Hegemons can’t endlessly monetize their relationships. Allies diversify. Trust evaporates. Sovereignty shifts from shared rules to brute resilience.
Here’s the part MAGA truly doesn’t understand….the system they’re burning down is what props them up. The dollar’s reserve status. Cheap borrowing. Global demand for U.S. assets. Those aren’t birthrights….they’re privileges earned by trust. When those hidden pillars crumble, American quality of life doesn’t gently decline….it drops.
There is no stuffing this genie back into the bottle. Trump’s ignorance, pettiness, and ego have shoved the United States into a harsher, lonelier world.
The damage is real, global trust is fractured, and nothing will ever fully snap back into place.
But there is still a choice. We can remove him, PROSECUTE HIM, reject MAGA nihilism, and start repairing what’s left.
Not to reclaim dominance….but to restore credibility.
The future is uncertain.
The consequences are not.
Do you agree with that it is too late to fix?
What is the path to recover American reputation and influence?
Note: I am not asking IF America’s influence and reputation are destroyed. They are. As in factually.
If you disagree then feel free to Reeeeeee!!! as loud as you want in your Siberian troll farm.
