You can ask the government to knock off your wife for you and they’ll happily oblige.
Yeah, this is a real story. An elderly woman in Ontario was euthanized by the government (they call it Medical Assistance in Dying or MAID) after her elderly husband grew tired and unable to care for her.
Sounds like he took the “Till death do us part” section of the vow in the wrong way.

So, the first doctor agreed she should move to hospice, the second doctor said, “nah, let’s kill her,” and then a THIRD doctor was called in and agreed with the second that it was “urgent” they proceed with the euthanasia.
And so they did.
With her very much alive husband lobbying for euthanasia, she was dead by the end of the day, despite changing her mind,
