Federal judge orders feds to maintain evidence from shooting that killed Pretti

A federal judge has granted a request from state and local officials to prevent federal officials from destroying or altering any evidence related to the fatal shooting of Alex Pretti.

The Hennepin County Attorney’s Office (HCAO) and Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) filed a joint lawsuit and motion for a temporary restraining order Saturday night in an effort to force federal agents to maintain any evidence related to the shooting.

It came after Homeland Security officials again prevented state investigators from inspecting the scene where Pretti was fatally shot by a Border Patrol agent on Saturday.
