The Department’s work includes customs, border, and immigration enforcement, emergency response to natural and manmade disasters, antiterrorism work, and cybersecurity. ~ As per stated by the US Federal Government. It was created in response to the Sept 1, 2001 terrorist attacks. This department of the federal government was officially born on November 25, 2002, with the Homeland Security Act of 2002.
