MAGA’s whack-a-mole defense of immigration raids is backfiring
The Trump administration has failed the conservative information ecosystem that helped return Donald Trump to power. Right-wing media expected images of dangerous criminals rounded up by ICE. Instead, Americans are seeing toddlers detained, citizens brutalized and a five-year-old taken 1,300 miles away. To most people, these images are horrifying; inside the right-wing media silo, they’re dismissed as hoaxes.
That disconnect has left MAGA world confused and sputtering as evidence mounts: altered photos, false DHS claims, officers entering homes without warrants and citizens assaulted in public. The administration’s lies are no longer spin but easily debunked fabrications, and even police testimony is ignored.
Trump miscalculated. He believed narrative control could substitute for accountability. Now the cracks are everywhere. Minneapolis exposed a reality the right can’t spin away, and Americans can’t unsee it
