Minnesota National Guard troops were reportedly at the site of a federal building in Minneapolis and appeared to be distributing coffee, donuts and hot chocolate to anti-ICE protesters, in a moment that quickly spread online. Their arrival came amid heightened tension following a fatal shooting linked to federal immigration enforcement, which intensified anger in the city and drew more people into the streets.
According to accounts from the scene, Guard members were also issued reflective vests so protesters would not confuse them with federal agents, as crowds gathered near federal facilities and emotions remained high.
