The Carney government talks a good game, but consistently fails to deliver

On file after file, what we’re promised is not what we end up getting

So 2026 is beginning the way 2025 ended, with a display of ineptitude by the Canadian state so far-reaching that it becomes difficult on any given file to determine whether they aren’t doing something because they don’t want to, because they can’t or both.

It’s no way to run a country.

In 2024, the immigration minister estimated there were as many as 600,000 people living here illegally. And since we’re all required to have identification papers, a SIN if nothing else, people earning money or receiving benefits should theoretically be traceable. But while I’m not certain they could count if they tried, they didn’t try.

Mind you, frequently burned when incompetence comes to light, the federal government has to its credit waged a fierce campaign against … no, not incompetence. It coming to light….

And why do such a thing, other than the reflexive #CanadianJediMindTrick that “you citizens don’t need to see that information?”
