Man accused of shooting Portland officers refuses to cooperate, blames AI and conspiracies in court

PORTLAND, Ore. — The man accused of shooting two Portland Police officers appeared in court Tuesday and refused to identify himself, citing “unconstitutional” targeting and blaming AI, neurotransmitters and other conspiracies — delaying his arraignment until next week.

Meanwhile, newly-filed documents in Multnomah County Circuit Court reveal more details about the Jan. 19 shooting and give more insight into how police tracked down their primary suspect.

Eric Floyd Oelkers, 41, opened fire on officers Sebastian Dragomir and Randy Stowe within moments of the two first speaking to him, paperwork filed by the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office claims. Oelkers was arrested early Monday morning after a week-long manhunt.
