President Trump holds a dubious distinction he may actually relish: the only U.S. president impeached twice, though never convicted. If Democrats retake the House, he could even face a third impeachment.
But Trump may not be their first target. House Democrats are already threatening to impeach Homeland Security chief Kristi Noem, warning the administration to fire her or face consequences. Once that happens, Trump knows he could be next.
The problem is political reality. Trump governs as if only his MAGA base matters, alienating moderates as public opinion turns against ICE and unrest dominates headlines. Even allies like Joe Rogan are drifting away. Meanwhile, voters want economic focus, not chaos. If Trump can’t pivot, a Democratic House, another impeachment, and a weakened presidency may follow.
