MARVIN’S MILLION: Veteran, 99, walking one million steps to raise money for Baycrest
Marvin Gord has made every step of his marvelous life count.
And at 99 years old, he has no intention of stopping now.
The military veteran, who served with the RCAF in Canada and the RAF in England, Africa and Italy as a radar specialist during the Second World War, is almost two months into his quest to walk a million steps by his 100th birthday on Dec. 31.
His goal is to raise a dollar for each step, or $1 million, for Baycrest’s Safeguarding Our Seniors (SOS) Campaign.
