There’s a utilitarian argument for Religion, that it helps organize society, and imbue good personality traits in people, and whether or not it’s based on ‘truth’ is secondary to ‘does it achieve good things?’
But… if part of Religion is about developing and having good personality traits… what personality traits would we like to see in young people?
Would you want the children in your life to grow up to be like cats, or like dogs, in terms of personality: and what would that mean?
