Tulsi Gabbard was a Democratic congresswoman for 8 years. She was always an odd fit for the party, progressive in some ways and very conservative in others. She sought the Democratic nomination for the president in 2020.
Following the Democratic primary process, Gabbard has left the House and began acting as a political commentator. She had ingratiated herself to the Republican party and recently appeared at a CPAC conference. Not all Republicans are on board with Gabbard, though. Senator Mitt Romney slammed her on Sunday as a treasonous liar.
A number of pundits called out Gabbard for pushing Russian propaganda. None did so more strongly than Mitt Romney. The Utah senator tweeted, “Tulsi Gabbard is parroting false Russian propaganda. Her treasonous lies may well cost lives.”
