Mankind’s Many Adopted Religions

Hi

Mankind’s Many Adopted Religions

There are several world religions today, however, the numbers are a fraction in comparison to the plethora of religions of pre-Christian era.  With Christianity killing-off hundreds of faiths with persecution from the 380 CE decree, or its hardcore evangelism and missionary work through the millennials from its earliest times.  Yet, what is Christianity?  It is just another adoption from other ancient man-made belief, which has been distorted to look like a new faith.   Today we have what is called the Abrahamic Religions stemming from Judaism, such as Samaritanism, Christianity, Islam, Yazidi, Mandeans, Druze, Babism, Baha’i Faith, and Rastafari.  However, the Samaritans would say that their faith came from Moses and the (Exodus) Israelites, as agreeing with the Old Testament, and their Pentateuch (Torah) has not changed throughout that period of time.  Where did Judaism come from, was it Baal or Ba’al? See 1 Kings 18:20-21 in what is known as Elijah kills the prophets of Baal.  A bronze statue of Baal has been dated to 14th-12th-century BCE.  Yet, that is not old by any standards!  Or another Mesopotamian religion.  Baal was associated with a major deity in the Canaanite pantheon, being the son of the chief god El, and his consort Ashera.  We know from Jewish sources that the children of Israel before they became Monotheist from the 6th-century BCE, worshipped other gods, and even did sacrifice to Ba’al.  El (Hebrew: אל) is a northwest Semitic word meaning ” god” or ”God.” In the English Bible, the derivative name Elohim is normally translated as ”God,” while Yahweh is translated as ”The Lord.” https://www.newworldencyclopedia.org/entry/El

El  is seen as father of all the other gods.   Who ever quoted that needs to revise, and think again!

Most probably one can say that Mesopotamia was not only the cradle of civilization, but also, the cradle of religion.  The world’s oldest temple, A.K.A. humanity’s first ”cathedral on a hill.”  Göbeklitepe temple built more than 11,000 years ago, located some 400 miles (ca. 644 km) northwest of Baghdad, in what would have been northern Mesopotamia—southeastern Anatolia, Turkey today. The temple, providing archaeologists with rare insights into a prehistoric religion.  The site comprises a number of large circular structures supported by massive stone pillars. What makes them remarkable are their carved reliefs of boars, foxes, lions, birds, snakes and scorpions, and their age.  They may have revered these animals.  However, they also enjoyed eating them, as bones of Boar, Red deer and sheep have been found on the site with a myriad of other animal bones.  Dating the temple pillars at around 9,500BC, these stones are 5,500 years older than the first cities of Mesopotamia, and 7,000 years older than Stonehenge and the Pyramids. The Temple at Göbeklitepe seem to be for the revering of Animals, where later Druidism revered Nature (flora and fauna, rivers and mountains, etc.).   And even much later Judaism, Christianity and Islam, the three main Abrahamic religions, chose an invisible unseeing god.  One that attacked mankind, leaving humanity bloodied, and fearing the wrath of their god.   This fear of their god, Christians have bestowed such names as omnipotent. This means that God is all-powerful. Examples of this can be seen in the Bible, such as God creating the world. Christians also believe that God is omnipresent.  Christians believe that this means that God is everywhere all the time. The term omnibenevolence means all-loving, and Christians believe that God loves everyone unconditionally. Also, they believe that God is omniscient, which means that he is all-knowing.  Christians believe that God knows everything and this is how he judges humans.  However, this omni God has tried to destroy humanity on several occasions.  Killing and destroying whole nations by genocide (see Numbers 21:1-18), and committed the most heinous crime against mankind through his earthly barbaric lieutenants, such as Moses, and others.

What do you say on this post?
