The school shooter in Uvalde Texas was not a trans girl. A social media site known for spreading false rumors to troll the general public has used the mass killing to target an innocent trans girl who is not in any way connected to the shooting, and at least one of the nation’s elected representatives has jumped on the bandwagon to use this tragedy as another way to demonize the LGBTQ community — despite a complete lack of any actual connection.
Marjorie Taylor Greene has been accused of a lot of things in her short tenure in Congress, but it’s unlikely that ‘sticking to the facts’ has ever made the list. In this clip below, she’s describing the 18-year-old shooter, but incorporates the false rumors spread by 4chan, claiming that the shooter wore eyeliner and was a cross-dresser.
These false rumors, of course, endanger both the falsely accused individual and the LGBTQ community, none of which Greene minds doing, especially if she can do so while also defending the right to own any and all guns.
