The Tampa Bay Lightning are glad there is only one day off between Games 2 and 3 of the Stanley Cup Final after the Colorado Avalanche put up a touchdown in their 7-0 win on Saturday night in Denver. The best thing for the Lightning is a quick forget of that one and move onto trying to get the series back on track at home. The Avalanche and Lightning are both -110 to win Monday’s Game 3 and the over/under is set at six goals. The over has hit in the first two games with seven goals being scored in each game.
The Lightning fell behind 0-2 to the Rangers in the Eastern Conference finals and rallied back. They have it in them to mount a comeback. But the Rangers don’t compare to this Avalanche team. Colorado is on another level, some tier among the clouds unseen in the Stanley Cup finals for a long while. If Tampa Bay gains an edge by returning to sea level in a more comfortable arena, it is quickly offset by an Avs team peaking above their already-lofty perch.
