Judge Who Signed Mar-A-Lago Warrant Has Been Getting So Many Threats That His Synagogue Cancelled Services

Magistrate Judge Bruce Reinhart has been the subject of a massive right-wing social media doxing campaign after he signed off on a search warrant for Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate that was carried out on Monday, August 8th.

Trump supporters posted the judge’s address and other personal information online, and threats on his life were made. Because he is Jewish, many of the attacks on Judge Reinhart contained Antisemitic tropes that so concerned his synagogue that they were forced to cancel a beachfront Shabbat service Friday night.

Trump’s base often uses the same kind of vitriol they’ve launched against Reinhart in an escalation of Antisemitic and white nationalist rhetoric propelled by Trump’s fervent supporters. The attack on Judge Reinhart coincides with the fifth anniversary of the deadly Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville in which mostly white men staged a torch-lit march on the University of Virginia campus shouting “Jews will not replace us.”
