The divide within the Republican Party grew even larger last week amid the fallout from the FBI’s search of Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate on August 8th. Trump’s remaining loyalists are still faithfully echoing his ever-changing defenses for removing classified documents from the White House, but others within the party are now taking different tones when it comes to their party’s de facto leader.
But others are supporting the FBI, stressing the importance of protecting the agency from outside violence while they’re investigating Trump for a potential violation of the Espionage Act. House Homeland Security Committee ranking member John Katko (R-NY) said, “This is not something you rush to judgment on … It’s incumbent upon everybody to take a deep breath.”
🚨BREAKING: A PA man threatened to murder FBI agents last week after the bureau's search of Mar-A-Lago, saying "come and get me you piece of shit feds" and "I am going to fucking slaughter you," according to a federal complaint filed Monday in Pittsburgh. He has been arrested.
