PEUTINGER’S TABULA

Hi

PEUTINGER’S TABULA

The adage of fight fire with fire, has always been my go-to, when rebutting Christians that claim untruths.  Yet, by using the Bible text against Christians, it seems to have little or no effect as they seem to ignore their God work.

This post is probably said to be part II of my previous discussion, The Errancy of the Bible!  Where there is no evidence that Nazareth did not exist in the time of the Christian saviour.  I am not saying that Jesus, did not exist, well, not in the Gentile version anyway.  However, as I showed in my last discussion, the placename Nazareth was absent from the writings of every known source up to the 4th-century:

  1. The absence in the geographical maps of the time
  2. The absence in the Bible’s Old Testament
  3. Absence in the Rabbinic literature
  4. The absence in the Pauline Writings
  5. Erroneous comparison of the topography of the Galilee territory of Nazareth

I omitted the Roman version of events.

If you have read the classics, you will be aware that the Roman documented everything, Rome existed by the revenue it had from its provinces.  Taxation (people and their wealth, etc.).  Imports of grain and wine, slaves, you name it, the Romans documented it!  They even documented where everything were, and their cartographers made colourful maps.  One such maps was of the Middle East, we know it as the Peutinger’s Tabula aka Tabula Peutingeriana.  It is a copy of an IV century Roman map detailing where all the holy places were in Palestine.  Yet, Nazareth is absent.  Not one mention, one would think, that Christianity was on the up-serge within the Roman Empire at the time, as we know Christianity became the sole religion of the Rome in 381 CE.  The Map is as old as the formation of Catholic Christianity, so why is there no mention of the Christian’s saviours home town?  The 4th-century saw the absents of numerous Christian doctrines/beliefs that only came into being in the 5th or 6th-century.  Such as the resurrection, Johannine Comma, the story of the Adulteress, and only-begotten son, which are absent in all the earliest biblical manuscripts.

On The Erroneous Comparison of the Topography of the Galilee Territory of Nazareth.

In the episode cited in the Gospel of Luke in Chapter 4 (vv-16-30), the text of the New Testament would be in error. The geography described in the Gospels is not found with the reality of the territory of Upper Judea. As there is no precipice near the synagogue in which Jesus was heard and, because of his sermons, driven out of the city (Gospel according to Luke 4, 16 -30). The closest cliff to Nazareth to which Jesus may have been taken is almost 5Km away from the synagogue, indeed far-fetched to travel with “a prisoner” all this way before an execution, and then easily fade away. However, some believe that there would not have been a certain reason why Jesus would not have been brought so far before he could escape.

https://www.abrahamicstudyhall.org/2019/02/24/nazareth-the-mystery-of-the-city-of-the-nazarenes ASH for short.

In addition, Luke 4 is also in error as he has Jesus reading from scrolls.  Yet, in John 7:15-16, Jesus is as illiterate as Peter and John are in Acts 4:13, and Jesus agrees with John version.  As Jesus states: My teaching (reading) is not my own, it comes from the one who sent me.  But who could that be?

Absence in The Rabbinic Literature

The Hebrews were extremely methodological in censing peoples and cities, from the smallest cluster of “houses”, to the larger cities, or the fortified ones (mentioned in the Bible). Even the complete tradition of the Babylonian Talmud, although it brings us back 63 cities of Galilee, does not mention Nazareth at all, nor is it reported in any text of the first rabbinic literature. —ASH.

Evidence for the existence of the first-century city of Nazareth does not exist, not in literature, not in archaeology, and not in history, it is a built city. May GOD help His people reaching Knowledge and finding the Truth.—ASH.

The wrongdoers of early Christianity dug themselves into a hole, that could not get out of, with their lies and make-believe.  However, today Christians try not to make the same mistake with lies, they use deception instead, by using the word Tradition, which to them means truth!  What do you say?
