Watervliet man arrested twice in one day, 8th arrest since 2021

WATERVLIET, NY (WRGB) — Watervliet Police say a months-long investigation into narcotic sales has resulted in an arrest and a house condemned.

On October 27th, officers working with Colonie Police executed a search warrant at 2418, 3rd Avenue.

37-year-old Joshua Prew was arrested, charged with three counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a controlled substance and 4 counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

Police say the home was condemned by code enforcement after it was determined to be unsanitary and inhabitable and that two children were removed from the home by child protective services.

Prew was arraigned and released with an electronic monitor.

Hours later, Prew was again arrested, along with three others, accused of breaking back into the condemned home and possessing narcotics. He was charged with criminal trespass and criminal possession of a controlled substance, according to Watervliet Police.

Prew was released on an appearance ticket.
