When I saw that it was The Babylon Bee’s Joel Berry sharing these images I at first thought, “Oh man, this satire sketch looks awesome!”
Except it’s not satire.
The name of the character is “Snow White,” you know, because the main character is so dazzlingly pale that her skin mimics snow. From the original Brothers Grimm tale:
Soon after that [the queen] had a little daughter, who was as white as snow, and as red as blood, and her hair was as black as ebony, and she was therefore called little Snow White.
I know it’s a fairy tale but c’mon, people! It’s in the name!
Do we have to play these games?
Also, only one of the dwarves is a dwarf?

The DailyMail’s headline is almost as funny as Joel B’s tweet:
Maybe you really don’t care that the dwarves are tall or Snow White is Jet Black. Fine. But what about those atrocious outfits??

Disney announced that ‘magical creatures’ would replace the seven dwarves to ‘avoid reinforcing stereotypes’ after Game of Thrones actor Peter Dinklage criticised the ‘f****** backwards story’ last year.
‘I was a little taken aback when they [Disney] were very proud to cast a Latina actress as Snow White, but you’re still telling the story of Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs,’ he told Mark Maron’s WTF podcast. ‘It makes no sense to me. You’re progressive in one way and you’re still making that f***ing backwards story about seven dwarfs living in a cave together, what the f*** are you doing, man? Have I done nothing to advance the cause from my soapbox? I guess I’m not loud enough.’
