Michigan woman arrested for shoplifting at “Shop With A Cop” event while loading stolen goods into car parked next to police cruiser

I am, mercifully, no expert on shoplifting — and hopefully you aren’t either! — but I’m pretty sure this is not how it’s done:

A Michigan woman was arrested at a Walmart store over the weekend after she was allegedly caught shoplifting during a “shop with a cop” event with over 70 police officers present.

Law enforcement officers were at the store in Genoa Township on Saturday when a clerk notified police that a woman had packed a cart with about $730 goods and ran through the self-checkout, Michigan State Police Lt. Rene Gonzalez told FOX2 Detroit.

Give this lady some serious credit: It’s very, very bold to try and boost nearly $1,000 in merch when apparently most of the state’s police force is within sight.

How bright was this crack criminal? Well:

A trooper followed the woman to the parking lot and spotted her loading the stolen goods in her car, which was parked next to a police cruiser.

Lady, if parking next to a police cruiser isn’t a deterrent to crime, maybe nothing ever will be!
