Spirit Airlines Boards Unaccompanied 6 Year Old On Wrong Flight

Casper was flying to visit his grandmother Maria Ramos in Southwest Florida for the first time. He was set to fly as an unaccompanied minor on Spirit Airlines from Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) to Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) in Fort Myers. However, instead of flying to Fort Myers, the airline put Casper on a flight to Orlando International Airport (MCO), over 200 miles away.

Maria, who was waiting at the arrival gate in Fort Myers for Casper, was told that he missed his flight.

Employees from Spirit Airlines continued to tell Ramos that Casper missed his flight, even though Ramos received a check-in tag from Casper. As this unfolded, Maria said Casper called her, saying he had landed. However, Casper had arrived not at Fort Myers but instead in Orlando.

Two family members set out to meet Casper, hopping in the car for the four-hour trip to Orlando. Nevertheless, although Casper did not make it to Fort Myers, his bag somehow did.
