This year will be the new 1776, a post reshared by Donald Trump on his social media platform Truth Social reads, “except this time the fight is not against the British, it’s against communist Americans.”
The original post, published by a Trump supporter who on her profile repeatedly associates President Joe Biden with the devil and calls for his impeachment as well as the firing of “all Democrats,” was reshared by the embattled former president on Saturday night, with no additional comment.
Newsweek contacted Trump’s 2024 campaign team for comment by email on Sunday morning.

The American Revolution officially ended with a peace treaty in 1783, with an estimated death toll of more than 25,000 American combatants.
