Following Donald Trump‘s recent statement that he has “nothing” to do with the conservative Project 2025, his estranged niece, Mary Trump, wrote on Friday that the former president appears “quite worried” Americans will “find out the truth” about the proposed initiative.
Created by right-wing think tank The Heritage Foundation, Project 2025 is a 900-page document of proposed policies for a future Republican administration. It aims to remove civil service employment protections for thousands of federal employees so they can be fired and replaced with Republican loyalists.
In addition to proposing sweeping right-wing changes to the federal government, including eliminating the Department of Education, reducing the scope of Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security, a number of former Trump administration officials are linked to Project 2025. A total of 31 contributors who served at various levels in and around Trump’s administration have been linked to the project, sparking speculation of Trump’s involvement.

In response to Trump’s statements, Mary Trump took to her Substack blog on Friday to allege that the former president was “lying” when he wrote that post, adding that he appears “quite worried” about others finding out the truth.
“Also, for those of you who still believe in logic, it’s very difficult to disagree with something about which you know absolutely nothing. And for somebody who ‘knows nothing,’ Donald seems quite worried that we’re going to find out the truth,” she wrote.
She added: “The reason Donald has been trying to put distance between him and Donald Trump’s Project 2025 is because, as stupid as he might think Americans are, he knows we would never stand for what he wants to do to us. So, he’ll keep lying about Donald Trump’s Project 2025 and his support for it, and we’ll keep fighting to get the truth out there.”
