On a lighter note, did an alien race bring religion to the world?

There is a belief that long, long ago, peoples from far, far, away in the galaxy, came to earth to spread their belief system to the technological impaired earthlings.  Once these aliens had done their apostolic work, they left their earthling disciples to carry on the Good News, while they travelled back from whence they came.  Taking with them earth borne diseases, such as the flu, common cold, syphilis, gonorrhea, and the Sinai camel annal discharge.  Hopefully eradicating these religious aliens on their home planet, so freeing the galaxy from religion.  With earth, possibly being the last frontier of religion in the solar system—one can only hope!

Many authors, religious and non-religious, have written about the Sky Gods or Sky Deities, from Zeus, to Apollo, as well as the pantheon of sky gods that made up the Olympian gods, not forgetting the Egyptian gods.  Even Jesus is among the deities in the sky/clouds.

However, today we see areas of the world with high incidence of religion.  The USA (Bible belt), Mid, and South America, Africa, Italy, Spain, Portugal, and patches here and there in Europe, being progressively decreasing by non-religious genes.  What is funny is that the carriers of the religious gene have stigmatized the non-religionist, by giving them the stigma that rightly belongs to the religious, the epithet—Atheist.

In order to deliver them from the sentence of death, all he (Polycarp) was required to do was “swear by the fortunes of Caesar” (i.e., do homage to the emperor’s divine spirit) and to curse “the atheist;” that is, the Christians, who did not acknowledge the gods and therefore, in the eyes of the pagans, “a—theists” (literally), “not theists,” those who do not accept the gods! [New Testament: A Historical Introduction to the Early. Christian Writings, pp. 379-81, Oxford University Press, Oxford—New York.]
Erich von Däniken (the man with a brain made of Swizz Cheese) claimed in his 1968 acclaimed book, “Chariots of the Gods,” that extraterrestrials came to earth. A book by the way that had to be rewritten by another author, Utz Utermann for it to be published. Utz Utermann, who used the pseudonym of Wilhelm Roggersdorf. Utermann was a former editor of the Nazi Party’s newspaper Völkische Beobachter and had been a Nazi bestselling author. This Swizz author claimed that the Nazca Lines, a group of geoglyphs made in the soil of the Nazca Desert in southern Peru.  Where the landing strips for the alien (missionary) spacecraft.  This would certainly give credence to why the New World, the Americas, has such a high incidence of religiosity.
Nota bene. Von Däniken, a noted felon like Trump, but unlike Trump he was incarcerated, however, though von Däniken was a thief and fraudster, and paid the price, he was never a rapist.  The Good News!  What do you say?
