Here is a prayer I heard in this morning’s Mass (church for you non-Catholics), and it hit me in my heart. There are a lot of people here who count themselves Christian who operate for a spirit of hate and oppression, insisting everyone agree with them and wanting to make laws in the US that are based solely on their interpretation of the Bible. I ask that you read this prayer and reflect on what a true Christian is. I’m not excluding myself in this, there are many things I do that aren’t especially Christian, like poking people on the Breaking News part of the site. Just think about it and be honest with yourself, yeah?
Oh God, who show the light of Your truth to those who go astray so that they may return to the right path give all who for the faith they profess are accounted Christians the grace to reject whatever is contrary to the name of Christ, and to strive after all that does it honor through our Lord Jesus Christ Your son who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit one God forever and ever.
