On day seven of the Paralympics swimming event, Jessica Long placed first in the 400-meter freestyle in the S8 classification. Long won the event in 4:48.74 with a 3.5-second margin, claiming her first win in Paris and the 17th Paralympic gold of her career. 32-year-old Long, who made her debut at Athens in 2004, has claimed wins in every Olympic appearance and has won 30 Paralympic medals for the U.S.A. in her career so far.
