Joshua ‘Vicky’ Freyermuth accused of attempting to kidnap a 11-year-old boy in Ohio

Police in Alliance, OH arrested Joshua Freyermuth Sunday after an alleged attempt to kidnap a young boy. Officers arrested Freyermuth on the 2200 block of Route 62 in Columbiana County on a warrant for attempted kidnapping, News 19 reported.

Alliance Police announced in a bulletin that the child was safe. “Earlier today an attempted kidnapping of a child occurred in Alliance, OH. Patrol officers and detectives were able to apprehend the suspect a short while ago in Columbiana County and he remains in police custody. The child is safe. More information will follow. Thank you to everyone for their assistance.”

According to WFMJ, the 39-year-old is accused of attempting to lure the boy away from his dog earlier in the day along South Web Avenue. Police said that Freyermuth also goes by the name “Vicky.” The police report stated that Freyermuth is homeless. 

Police said in their report that Freyermuth told the 11-year-old boy on September 22, “I need to talk to you” in an attempt to lure the boy off his property and away from his dog, WOIO reported. The report added that when the child refused, Freyermuth allegedly attempted to grab him.

Freyermuth was arrested on Friday in a separate case after police said that they found methamphetamine in Freyermuth’s car. According to the Canton Repository, Freyermuth had been charged with possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia and obstructing official business in that case.
