One of my “favorite” parts of presidential election campaigns is also one of the best displays of hypocrisy exhibited by the Democrat Party. Yep, “the party of the middle class” prioritizes hanging out with A-list celebrities and big-money donors, all the while relying on lip service and hollow scripted promises for the little people.
Of all Democrat presidential nominees in memory, Kamala Harris is drunker on the predictable practice than any I’ve seen, and that includes Hollywood’s cherished golden boy, Barack Obama.
Harris’ campaign has focused on celebrity sit-downs and fundraising among mega-donors, with an occasional softball-question interview with a friendly “journalist” tossed in, in an attempt to quiet critics, which has backfired. No matter: the installed presidential nominee continues to rake in millions.
For example:
Less than a day after Joe Biden’s exit [expulsion], the Democracy Alliance— a group of left-leaning donors that has raised over $2 billion for liberal causes — threw its support behind Harris. In her first official month as the nominee, Harris’ campaign raised $361 million in August, more than doubling former President Donald Trump’s haul for the same month.
And that was just the beginning. On Sunday, September 29, Harris made her first appearance in Los Angeles after announcing her campaign.
[Harris hosted] a fundraiser with tickets starting at $500 per person and rising to $1 million. With celebrities like Stevie Wonder, Demi Lovato, Jessica Alba and Lily Tomlin in attendance, the event, in combination with another San Francisco fundraiser. raked in an estimated $55 million.
Is it reasonable to assume that big-money donors and A-list celebrities who likely can’t remember the last time they shopped for groceries, much less pumped their own gas, truly understand the plight of working-class Americans over the last nearly four years, as the Biden-Harris administration threw open our southern borders, spent billions on illegal aliens, went to war against the oil and natural gas industries, and spent billions in the never-ending Russia-Ukraine War? Of course not.
Yet, “the party of the middle class” continues to sing the same tired old song, and except when Kamala Harris sings it, it’s mostly word salads and other intelligible nonsense. And let’s not even get started on Tim Walz.
